The attitude of a leader is infectious. I once knew a fellow who could have been named King Pessimist King Pessimist coached little league teams for 13 years during which time his team's best year won 2 games. He always blamed the kids, their parents, and the other coaches for his bad teams. When he lost a game he would yell at the kids, blame the parents for not practicing with the kids and criticize his fellow coaches for bad coaching. I asked the fellow year after year if perhaps it was his negative pessimistic attitude that might be the problem. He said absolutely not. It was the kids, their parents and the other coaches that caused his long string of dismal seasons. The fact is that it was King Pessimist't negative attitude and actions that caused the problem. The kids on his team picked up on his negativity and performed accordingly.
The attitude and actions of a team leader will determine the performance of the team. If you want your team to perform well, you as a leader must have a positive attitude . You must praise your team even when they lose and let them know you have faith in them to go out and be winners next time. Successful leaders have positive attitudes, show faith in their team, praise individuals for good performance and encourage everyone to do their best everyday.
